Director Jill Carter's work spans a variety of diverse genres, showcasing her interest in uniting people of all ages through thoughtful and universal experiences.​

Jill recently completed directing MOVING DAY, a female driven anthology film set against the backdrop of Montreal's unique July 1st moving day tradition.    

Her segment "Beat the Clock" is the connective tissue that weaves throughout the film to tie each distinct segment together. The film is produced by Cotton Bush Productions in conjunction with Telefilm Canada and CBC and it is currently in post production.

Previous credits include the pilot and 2nd episode of the buzzy high school comedy ASTRID & LILLY SAVE THE WORLD (SYFY), the legal drama SACRIFICE (BET+) starring Paula Patton, the acclaimed and empowering THE BOLD TYPE (Freeform/Hulu) starring Meghann Fahy, the pilot and multiple episodes of the cop thriller THE MURDERS (Sundance Channel) starring Jessica Lucas, the family drama HEARTLAND (CBC), the legal drama IN CONTEMPT (BET), the comedy-drama PRIVATE EYES (Global), the period mystery drama MURDOCH MYSTERIES (CBC- Acorn), and the popular young adult romantic thriller                                   BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (The CW).

Jill's film credits include a slate of 4 intertwining rom coms called THE LOVE CLUB: NICOLE, SYDNEY, LAUREN, TARA (W Network) along with                                 AN ICE WINE CHRISTMAS Lifetime) starring Roselyn Sanchez, CHRISTMAS 9-5 (Lifetime) starring Tiya Sircar and SEASON FOR LOVE (Hallmark) starring     Autumn Reeser.

Jill's short films MOMENT, NINETY-ONE and LITTLE LARRY have screened at festivals around the world. LITTLE LARRY was nominated for "Best Short Film" at the Directors Guild of Canada Awards.

Jill is an alum of the prestigious TIFF STUDIO, an incubator program run by the Toronto International Film Festival. Outside of work, her interests include travel, music, motorsports, photography, literature and art. She studied fashion design before transitioning to film and television. Jill currently resides in Toronto holding British and Canadian passports and is a member of the DGA and the DGC.
